This Weekend I’ll Mostly Be Listening to… songs about Motorways, Roads and Autobahns… December 21, 2019

Posted by WorldbyStorm in Uncategorized.

We’ve done trains, we’ve done planes, now it’s time to hit the open road. And what a selection. So many songs, roads, motorways, the autobahn. It’s all ahead of us, with the past speeding behind us in the rearview mirror (says the man the state determined twice wasn’t good enough at driving to get a license!). Tellingly every period of popular music has engage with this topic, country, rock’n’roll, metal, electronica and unsurprisingly – the urge to get away is a continual one at all times and societies. And of course, as Motorhead note, music and the road are inextricably linked as bands and individual artists go out on the road to play. So, a selection to which all additions very very welcome…
