Modern day Scots are certainly not advocating the type of Independent Ulster that Loyalists in the 1970s were fanatically upholding

“But it’s not something you ever hear being championed”.
Well no. An Independent Ulster would be an even worse basket case than Northern Ireland on economic and sectarian grounds. Fortunately the Belfast/GFAgreement put an end to such a dystopic vision which belongs in the past among other Loyalist supremacist fantasies
