I suggest this blog should have a regular (weekly) slot where people can post happenings at the personal or political level that gives them hope that we’re perhaps not going to hell in a handbasket as quickly as we thought. Or as the phlegmatic Germans put it “hope dies last”.

Cori Bush just won a Democratic congressional primary in St Louis against Lacy Clay, who is a 20 year incumbent whose father held the seat for 30 years before that. She is a nurse, a prominent Black Lives Matter leader from the Ferguson revolt, Missouri co-chair of the Sanders campaign and a DSA member. Another big win for the left — Rashida Tlaib in Detroit staying in congress — a socialist Palestinian and a DSA member.
