…from Jason O’Toole in the Irish Mirror. Flannery in the course of a number of topics, raises an interesting question:

“There’s a kind of an environmental anxiety about the amount of travel that musicians do.”

Is he pulling my leg?!

“No, that has crossed my mind alright,” he admitted.

“Now, whether or not I’d be really able to change the way I live that much, I’m not sure because it’s been a very enjoyable way to make a living in life and lots of different experiences, playing fun gigs with fun band members. It’s cool, like. I’d never complain.

“I just think I worry about the environmental aspect of it. I don’t know if I could bring myself to do it. I don’t want to quit by any means. It just crosses my mind.

“I guess it crossed my mind because of the quarantine and how slow the world seemed and the lack of frantic movement. Something about it seemed a little bit more natural.”

Good to see someone thinking about that side of things.
