When this is all over and we can go to gigs again Denise Chaila is one of the artists that I want to go and see. Intelligent, witty lyrics, a charming personality, someone invested in Limerick and of course a great representative for many young people here.

In a marginally connected note, I was re-reading ‘Ain’t no black in the Union Jack’ and, in the intro to the 2nd edition (2002), Gilroy notes the increasing visibility of black ‘British’ pop artists in the time since the first edition (1987). His examples are Craig David and Samantha Mumba….
