Wasn’t something that seemed too important to people. Wasn’t a six figure sum in a brown envelope etc etc
Plus people were more concerned with that Burke clown than election spending.
I’m as guilty as anybody. As someone who does the early shift at my local polling station,I always buy an “Irish News” and let it stay on the table for those who replace me at different points during the day.In those four decades I have never declared my donation.
Early and often was practised by every party in the North until strict ID laws emerged in the 1980s.In some areas there were more votes in the ballot box than actual voters on the register!
Ah here now! Don’t be hiding your light under a bushel – take credit where it’s due. I don’t have the figures readily to hand, but I seem to remember a consistent rise in the SF vote from election to election, but slightly interrupted when the strict ID laws came in. Am I right, or did I imagine it?
Funny enough the more restrictions came in , SF were the only party well enough organised to cope with them. They had enough people on the ground to assist people applying for ID,supplying forms etc.
apparently so –

Come, come. We can’t be sacking presidents of Europe for a few hundred euro, now, can we? Think of the nation’s honour and the greater glory.

And the danger is that last one is going to run and run. A great diversion.

SF have decided not to put down a no-confidence motion.
It seems that keeping track and accurate records of election spending is difficult for all.
