This is, to date, the only literature I’ve received from Patricia McKenna, which is pretty astounding when you think about it, unless I’m simply very very unlucky and everyone else has been getting piles of leaflets. Doesn’t it show the efficacy of a ‘name’ in politics?

More from Christy Burke, and also appended a joint leaflet that shows people how to use the ballot paper. Clever.

Not hugely different from a previous leaflet which is in this series. You’ll see that there’s more biographical material…

Here’s a leaflet, forwarded by alastair for which many thanks, for Ivana Bacik of the Labour Party. It’s not bad, although I note she is but one amongst many using the ‘change’ line. As he notes “Bonus points for mentioning the Nazis – surely a Dublin Central leaflet first?”. It is indeed.

Here’s a punchy document from Joe Higgins whose chances seem considerably better today than they did last week. Fair dues to him and the SP. Nice work.

I’ve been surprised by how little material I’ve received from Ivana Bacik during this campaign. I don’t know why that is. I will say that after x number of weeks of posters and flyers ever I who has more than a usual interest in such things really would like a bit of a break from it. So roll on next Friday and Saturday [BTW, my thoughts such as they are on the latest poll I’ll post up over the next day or two, all I’ll say now is that it’s great that the left in all its shapes and forms is doing so well in Dublin]. And I’ll bet the candidates are counting down the days. Nah, strike that, I know they are. And the canvassers.

Still, the weather’s good, the anger at the doors is probably manageable (depending on who you are) and really, what better things do politicians and entourages have to be doing? Perhaps better to keep them on the streets…

Another leaflet from Emer Costello, who is putting considerable effort into the campaign, this time provided courtesy of Wednesday. There’s a small spelling error on it. Can anyone discover it?

Here’s a leaflet from Independent local election candidate Cieran Perry. An interesting leaflet that focuses heavily on the national picture rather than the local.

I’m indebted to a now regular contributor of election material for the latest leaflet, this from Patrick Maphoso who is running as an Independent. You know, this is one of the more precise leaflets in this election with a very clear approach, perhaps not so surprising when one learns that he was an active member of the ANC.

As the contributor notes:

I have to say, I like what I’ve seen of him.

One of his issues, raised earlier in his campaign, was that he didn’t think people should have to go to Garda stations to register to vote (you still have to if you want to get on the supplement to the register after the official register closes).

He reckons public libraries would be better, and I agree.
