This Week At Irish Election Literature February 1, 2013

Starting off this week with an interview with myself from Rabble.

Then a profile of Dr Patrick Tubridy (Father of Ryan Tubridy) who died this week, the profile is from the 1980 Fianna Fail Committee of 15 elections.

From there to a leaflet from Emmet Stagg about a Primary School Patronage survey being undertaken by the Dept of Education and Science

Then from the 1985 Local Elections a leaflet from Sinn Fein candidate Liam MacElhinney who was running in Letterkenny. The leaflet focuses very much on his role in the ‘Republican Movement’, something they wouldn’t focus on so much these days.

and finally a lovely leaflet this from the 1985 Local Elections for Labour Party candidates in Greystones Tom Mulligan and Charlie Keddy. I love it purely for its corniness.

Well, in the south anyway. Im fairly sure literature in Tyrone and Belfast, or at least particular parts of them still make fairly prominent use of someone being an ex republican prisoner, and they joined the republican movement in… etc etec
