The film is shot at St Enda’s in Rathfarnham, (Patrick Pearse’s school) and was used to promote The ‘Republican Loan’.
Historically it has an all star cast featuring amongst others Michael Collins, Margaret Pearse, Grace Gifford, Nora Connolly,Arthur Griffith, Eoin MacNeill, Erskine Childers and W.T. Cosgrave.
More details on the film and those that appear in it.
IEL, the video seems to end early, before VI Lenin walks up to Collins to discuss the loan. Could you try uploading it again?

This was widely used as part of Dáil Éireann’s bid for international recognition, as well as to raise funds. Note the appearance of Michael Collins; some people will tell you that there were either no photographs of him at all or that the British didn’t know what he looked like before 1921.

In a rare moment of idleness I followed some of the links provided to the lesser known personalities in the footage and came across an extensive site, presumably collated by Humphrys, linking O’Rahilly’s family with several other prominent families in the movement. I’d never known for example the extent to which his sons featured in public life after the foundation of the state but I was particularly taken aback by Sighle Humphreys’ support for the Nazis (along with her husband Domhnall O’Donoghue, who’d previously taken over the editorship of An Phoblacht from Frank Ryan). See http://humphrysfamilytree.com/Humphrys/sighle.html
Brian Hanley’s point is interesting regarding Collins. It’s always been difficult to credit his anonymity in a city the size of Dublin. I’m trying to collate information from primary and secondary sources for a research project regarding Collins’ use of the bicycle in Dublin and would appreciate any information CLR readers might have in this regard.
