Many thanks for the following!

Renua Ireland - We want to create a new political party, a party that changes the way we do politics. This party will champion human inventiveness.

RENUA Ireland, the Watchdog

Time is running out.  On Friday 26th February, the Irish people will vote in the most important General Election in a generation.  If the election in 2011 hinted at what can be done when we all decide to vote out the old tired crony ways, let 2016 prove it can be done, once and for all.  Let us finally come of age and celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the foundation of our state with a vote for a real democratic revolution and an end to the domination of the civil war parties.

RENUA Ireland is founded on the principles of integrity, honesty and citizen representation.  We don’t just want high standards in high places, we demand it.  It is high time the peoples’ vote was cherished and respected and that is exactly what RENUA Ireland will do with your number 1 vote.  Nobody will ever regret voting a RENUA Ireland candidate #1.

RENUA the Watchdog

Today we launched our bid to be the people’s watch dog.  If you thought Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael distributed state board appointments like confetti to their insiders whilst ruling largely on their own, just imagine the scenario when they are governing together.

RENUA Ireland, if in government, will ensure openness and  transparency become the norm when it comes to public appointments and general governance.

Watchdog Policy Launch

RENUA Flat Tax

We’d like to clarify a few things about RENUA Flat Tax.  RENUA Ireland want to reward work and make work pay, and we make no apology for that.  But there’s more to RENUA Flat Tax than the media are telling you, and a few myths to bust open.

We’ve posted a policy explainer on our website, the link will be included below, but here is a brief summary:

1. RENUA Flat Tax is bad for low incomes

This is probably the most misrepresented facet of RENUA Fat Tax.  All earners gain under RENUA Flat Tax, but those who will see the biggest lifestyle gain are the very low paid.  Our tax proposal includes a Graduated Basic Income (GBI) component which is paid after tax is deducted,  This graduated basic income starts at €3,600 for a single person on minimum wage, or €7,200 for a couple or lone parent living on minimum wage or below.  The GBI payment gradually decreases to €0 once you reach earnings of €70,000 per year.

For example, under RENUA Flat Tax, a couple or lone parent earning €20,000 per year, effectively pay NO tax at all AND receive a payment from the state of €2,400 per year.  In other words, this couple or lone parent are a full €63 per WEEK better off under RENUA Flat Tax than they are under the current system.

RENUA Ireland recognise that some people will be always on low income and our desire is for every citizen to have a Minimum Lifestyle Standard.

Check out our tax calculator here: RENUA Ireland Tax Calculator

2. RENUA Flat Tax protects our economy

Ireland’s corporation tax advantage is disappearing.  Flat Tax will ensure that Ireland remains ahead of the curve on global taxation changes that are inevitably coming and be the “miracle grow” for Irish SMEs.

3. RENUA Flat Tax is a hat tip to the “rich”

We explain how “rich” people don’t pay income tax because buying and selling property or shares and making income from this is, well, not considered income.  We’ll change that.

4. RENUA Flat Tax will allow us to invest in better public services

RENUA Flat Tax will INCREASE the total tax take in the country allowing us to invest in vital public services.

The Labour Party
Dear Friend,

In this election, only The Labour Party is proposing to focus tax cuts on low-middle income workers

Having delivered an economic recovery, we believe that those on average earnings should have their take home pay increased. That is why we are planning to abolish USC on all earnings up to €72,000.

These proposals focus on those on average earnings. The teacher. The nurse. The office administrator, The retail assistant. The Garda. They are the focus of Labour’s tax plan.

Labour’s proposals on taxation are unique. Sinn Fein have no plan to reduce the USC for those on low and middle incomes. Fianna Fail want an effective tax giveaway for high earners.

This graph highlights Labour’s proposals in comparison to other parties. Please share it with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Only Labour’s tax plan is fair and balanced, giving to those who deserve it most. I am asking you to support it by voting Labour number 1 this Friday.

Thank you,

Alex White TD

Lets do this! http://finegael.newsweaver.com/WeeklyMessageFromAnTaoiseachEndaKennynewsletter/3nco1razeuo
Dear (political voyeur)

You have one full day to make a difference. One full day to win and save seats for Fine Gael.

I’m making a special request to all our members and friends, throughout the country, to redouble our efforts in the final push for votes. Our 88 candidates have, with your support, put in a great campaign. They deserve our full support, especially at this critical time.

What is absolutely clear is that a small number of votes will decide final seats. Every vote is crucial now.

So what can you do to make a difference?

MAKE 20/30 calls to friends and family urging people to vote for our candidates.
TEXT your contacts personally looking for a vote.
TAKE part in the “get out the vote operation” going on locally in your area.
OFFER a friend a lift to the the polling station on Friday
ENCOURAGE students to come home to vote for Fine Gael.
STAND with our candidates at junctions or commuter locations on Friday.
SUPPORT your local candidate, the Party and the Taoiseach on Social Media.
KEEP canvassing for No.1’s right up to 10pm on Friday.
AFTER voting Fine Gael, continue your preference to the Labour Party.

Three of the last four national opinion polls have Fine Gael on 30%. With a big effort tomorrow and Friday we can push that number up. The bigger the national vote – the more seats we can win. All the polls show the level of undecided voters still unusually high so close to a General Election.

Campaigning in government was always going to be different to campaigning from opposition. We have a strong record of achievement in government. With the Labour Party we have provided this country with a stable government and a recovering economy over the last five years.

I believe this is what people want and that we are on the cusp of returning to government.

Thank you again so much for all your hard work and support. Together we can win – let’s go and do it.

Kind regards,

BRIAN HAYES MEP
