Interesting, I was just re-playing Bioshock recently, where one of the antagonists has a slight variation of this as a motto of sorts: https://townserd.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/bioshock-no-gods-or-kings1.jpg

Also the name of one of the endings in the excellent Fallout: New Vegas, the one where the player rejects all factions and takes over the titular city themselves! I wonder if younger visitors to the site will associate the saying with those things more than Blanqui (which I’m only dimly aware of)

I think “Find Something New” translates as “On yer bike” in English English.

It sounds like a dogwhistle for the base. All these shiftless unemployed people have to do is find a new job, etc.

For the younger readers who mightn’t get the ‘on yer bike’ reference. From Wiki’s piece on Norman Tebbit:

“In the aftermath of the 1981 riots in Handsworth and Brixton, Tebbit responded to a suggestion by the Young Conservative National chairman, Iain Picton that rioting was the natural reaction to unemployment:

I grew up in the ’30s with an unemployed father. He didn’t riot. He got on his bike and looked for work, and he kept looking till he found it.

As a result, Tebbit is often misquoted as having directly told the unemployed to “get on your bike”, and he was popularly referred to as “Onyerbike” for some considerable time afterwards.”
