This newsletter was issued in 2010s as a Recruitment Special. It asks:

Do you get a sinking feeling when you think about your income, your debts and your future? Do you feel that no matter how hard you work, no matter what sacrifices you make, you still can’t get ahead? Yes? That’s because it’s true.

Did you know that just 1% of the population of this country own more than 34% of the wealth? And did you know that the 1% are actually getting richer during the current recession?

The current economic system, called capitalism, has failed you, your family, your community and your country. And it hasn’t happened by accident. Capitalism is designed to benefit the super-rich ahead of everyone else – that’s just the way it works and the proof is all around you. You owe the capitalist system nothing. It’s time for change, a big change, a change of system!

The leaflet notes:

We Tell It As It Is

Other political party’s tell you what you want to hear, promising a perfect world in return for your vote. It might not be easy to hear but the solution to Ireland’s problem’s won’t come from new ‘leaders’; it will come from you and people like you taking the decision to get involved in the struggle for a free and fair Ireland.

And:

The  Irish people have been fighting for freedom and justice for centuries. Our history is full of victories that has been achieved as a result of ordinary people getting themselves organised into effective political movements. eírígí is made up of people like you who are about the business of organising that resistance. Our future is in our own hands. We all know what needs to be done – now we just need to go and do it.

Note that the leaflet is bilingual with the first section in Irish as well as English.
