…as chosen by album sleeve designers in the Guardian. And happy I am that so many are albums I like (and designs I like – hats off to Barney Bubbles and Peter Saville). Still, as I get older I can’t help but notice how slewed to a very narrow slice of rock and pop these selections tend to be.
That Kraftwerk cover, Autobahn, is wonderful isn’t it!
A personal favourite is Heaven Up Here, Echo and The Bunnymen.
Unknown Pleasures also pure class.

Not a sleeve strictly speaking, but PiL’s Metal Box is definitely my favourite. Even as a CD case it’s great.
