DUP and Arlene Foster scandals and financial mis-management in northern ireland? SIF and RHI, anyone? They’re not the first corruption scandals the DUP have been involved in (remember Red Sky?)
Might there be hope they will be the last, as the current set-up looks destined to come a cropper?

OK. That’s it! If even Wbs is filling up the ‘sign of hope’ with utterly depressing links, the concept has to be abandoned. There are none. none at all.

The Standing Rock protests-how they blocked the final stage of the pipeline, and also offer a model for resisting Trump:

Also, to anyone tempted to despair-that’s an understandable feeling,
but that’s also exactly what the forces of reaction want us to do. To give up hope in our agency and retreat into apathy or quietism.

The so called “Northern Ireland” labour party initially backed Burnham against Corbyn but now pretend to be Corbynistas ,hoping if they suck up to him ,he will allow them to stand in elections. They will be privately seething at his appointment of Jayne Fisher (formerly SF’s London rep) to his inner circle this week.

“More than four years ago, thousands of low-wage airport workers began an uphill fight for better pay, safe working conditions, job protections and the right to join a union…
This week, the workers won.”

Sadly, even Penguin Books must be abandoned by the literary-minded leftist:
