Some who read Eoghan Harris’s thoughts at the weekend might have been a tad surprised at the mention of this which will be of interest to many of us. Some familiar and welcome names involved.

Indeed you’d wonder what EH makes of the most recent post on union recognition.

Two points jump immediately to mind reading Harris’ piece on the 1913 Committee:

1. Larkin was more of a nationalist than Connolly ever was.

2. Wasn’t Jim Connell a member of the Fenians?

Larkin and Connolly were both socialists and nationalists. Connolly became a member of the IRB as part of the deal on a joint Rising.
